Things…
March 11th, 2009I have been diagnosed with Influenza A yesterday, and it’s just as much fun as everyone says it is. BLeh.
On a more important note, and one that hits me personally, i’ve just learned the first shop I worked for, Animation Factory, is closing it’s doors soon. This saddens me on many levels. It was my first job in the industry, it was a small company so it felt like a family, so obviously I still have friends there(or at least I like to think I do):). The bosses were awesome, and to be honest with you, it was probably one of the better places to work for me, it gave me more than art school ever did. They promoted learning, they encouraged, and even set aside time so that the employees could enter the 10 second club. This may not seem like a lot to you, but this was before Animation Mentor was around, it was before anyone was offering “free mentoring”, so for me it was like they were giving me time to really tune my skills. I thank them for that and the many other things I got to do while I was there. I wish I could still fling a wrist pillow cut at someone from time to time, and they’ll probably be he first to tell you, i’m deadly with those things:) It’s places like this that need to stick around for more reasons than one. Whoever made this decision, to be frank, you made the worst decision you could possibly make. What goes around comes around.
On a much less important note, i’ve decided to shut the blog down, well, not really, but I’m going to replace it with a more traditional portfolio site, i’ll probably keep the blog around, but as you can see, I don’t update it much any longer. Call me lazy, or call me busy, whatever makes you happy. It will stick around in some way shape or form, just not in it’s current state. Thanks for reading all of my blabbering over the…..years? Seriously, some of the notes I got from people kept me going, this industry can suck the life out of you sometimes, it takes friends to put it back in. THANK YOU!!!!

This looks great!!! This is a first feature for Ilion Animation Studios. They’re from Spain, and we all know Spaniards are just good animators, it’s in the water I think, kind of like Canada. Anyways, I look forward to this one.
Drivers in Sioux Falls, this is for you!!!!!
January 2nd, 2009First, let me apologize to anyone not living in the Sioux Falls area, this isn’t intended for you. Second, I a general apology, i’m not a negative person, and this is going to come across as negative. But i’ve had it…..

December 30th, 2008Yes, i’m a giant fan of Tim Burton, and i’m usually a fan of what he likes. So without exception, this looks great. There’s some talk around on some forums about the design and it being a little like some other game or something. I’m sorry, Shane Acker, I think your shizzle looks great!!! Don’t let anyone else tell you different. I guess having a backer like Burton probably doesn’t let little peons such as myself bother you to much:) Anyways, I look forward to seeing this and I loved the short(highlighted in an earlier post). You’re probably not going to read this either, but I like to think you will.
Edit: It’s about time someone tackled some big kid content in an animated film(other than anime)….at least that’s what i’m hoping.
My trials are over
December 30th, 2008
If you’re a fan of the World of Warcraft, you may want to look away. This will be a little review of my experience with the game.
So I’ve never played it, never thought I would. But, they offered the 10-day trial thingy and I thought “why not”. So I took the plunge and downloaded the trial, I hesitantly installed, debating on whether I should hit the cancel button or not. When it happend…..
